SikaFlex 265 Black Adhesive Sealant For Bonding Glazing With High Strength Atmospheric Agents

Sikaflex®-265 is a one-component elastic adhesive for bonding and sealing joints in glass applications for commercial vehicles. Its excellent weather resistance makes it very suitable for use in external joints. Sikaflex®-265 is compatible with Sika's black primerless bonding process. Sikaflex®-265 can be accelerated with Sika's Booster system.
Sikaflex®-265 is designed for direct glazing applications in both the OEM market and the repair sector. Thanks to its good tooling properties and superior weathering stabilization, the product can be used for exterior joints. Consult the manufacturer and conduct tests on original substrates before using Sikaflex®-265 on materials subject to stress cracking. Sikaflex®-265 is suitable only for experienced professional users. Tests should be conducted with substrates and real conditions to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

Surface preparation:
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from any traces of grease, oil, dust, and contaminants. The surface treatment depends on the specific nature of the substrates and is essential for a lasting bond. Suggestions for surface preparation can be found in the current edition of the appropriate Sika® pretreatment table. Please note that these suggestions are based on experience and must always be verified through tests on original substrates.

Application:
Sikaflex®-265 can be processed between 10 °C and 35 °C (climate and product), but changes in reactivity and application properties should be considered. The optimal temperature for substrate and sealant is between 15 °C and 25 °C.

Consider the increase in viscosity at low temperatures. For easy application, condition the adhesive at room temperature before use. To ensure a uniform joint line thickness, it is recommended to apply the adhesive in the form of a triangular bead.

Sikaflex®-265 can be extruded with manual, pneumatic, or electric guns, as well as with pump equipment. The open time is significantly shorter in hot and humid climates. Parts must always be installed within the open time. Never join adhesive parts if the adhesive has skinned over. Tooling and finishing:
Finishing must be done within the product's skin time. Sika® Tooling Agent N is recommended. Other finishing agents should be tested for suitability and compatibility before use.

Removal:
Uncured Sikaflex®-265 can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed skin should be immediately washed with wipes such as Sika® Cleaner-350H or a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water. Do not use solvents on the skin!

Disposal:

Jar: FE40 - Iron Collection

Recycle only if perfectly clean and empty.

Otherwise, recycle at designated eco centers.
