Sika® Primer-215 is a colorless to slightly yellow solvent-based primer that reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer. This layer acts as a link between substrates and adhesives. Sika® Primer-215 is specifically formulated for the treatment of surfaces to be bonded before the application of Sika one-component polyurethanes.
Sika® Primer-215 is used to improve adhesion on many plastics and wood such as GRP, epoxy resins, PVC, ABS, and wood. Due to the wide variety of plastic materials, it is mandatory to conduct preliminary tests on original substrates under production conditions. Seek advice from the manufacturer and perform tests on original substrates before using Sika® Primer-215 on materials subject to stress cracking. This product is suitable only for experienced professional users. To ensure adhesion and compatibility of materials, it is necessary to conduct tests with the substrates under real conditions.
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and contaminants. Adhesion to substrates can be improved by adding and/or combining pretreatment processes such as abrasion, cleaning, and activation.
Application:
Apply a thin but covering layer of Sika® Primer-215 using a brush, felt pad, or sponge. The ideal application temperature for surfaces is between 15°C and 25°C. Sika® Primer-215 should be applied only once. Care must be taken to ensure that this single application provides a sufficiently dense coverage. Consumption and application method depend on the specific nature of the substrates. Close the container tightly immediately after each use.
