DESCRIPTION

Sika Primer-210 is a colorless and slightly yellow solvent based primer which reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer. This layer acts as a link between substrates and adhesives. Sika Primer-210 is specifically formulated for treating surfaces to be bonded prior to the application of one-component Sika polyurethanes.i.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Sika Primer-210 is used to improve adhesion on many metals such as aluminum, steel and non-ferrous metals. This primer could also be used to improve the adhesion of Sikasil sealants and adhesives. METHOD OF APPLICATION

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and contaminants. Adhesion to substrates can be improved by adding and / or combining pre-treatment processes such as abrasion, cleaning and activation prior to primer application.

Application

Apply a thin but covering layer of Sika Primer-210 using a brush, felt pad, clean lint-free cloth or sponge. Sika Primer-210 exhibits thermoplastic behavior up to 3 days after application, therefore high temperatures or initial stresses on the surface to be bonded must be avoided. The ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 C and 25 C. Sika Primer-210 only needs to be applied once. Care must be taken to ensure that this single application gives sufficiently dense coverage. Consumption and method of application depend on the specific nature of the substrates.
