Sika® Primer-206 G+P is a black solvent-based primer that reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer. This layer acts as a link between substrates and adhesives. Sika® Primer-206 G+P is specifically formulated for the treatment of surfaces to be bonded before the application of Sika one-component polyurethanes.
Sika® Primer-206 G+P is used to improve adhesion on substrates such as float glass, ceramic screen prints, pre-coatings, painted surfaces, and some plastics and metals. Consult the manufacturer and conduct tests on the original substrates before using Sika® Primer-206 G+P on materials subject to stress cracking. This product is suitable only for experienced professional users. To ensure adhesion and compatibility of materials, it is necessary to conduct tests with the substrates under real conditions.
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and contaminants.
Adhesion to substrates can be improved by adding and/or combining pre-treatment processes such as abrasion and cleaning.
Pre-treat the area to be bonded on the substrates with Sika® Aktivator-100 using the wipe-on, wipe-off method and wait for evaporation.
Application:
Thoroughly shake Sika® Primer-206 G+P until the mixing ball moves freely. Continue shaking for another minute and apply a thin but covering layer using a brush, felt pad, or sponge.
The ideal application and surface temperature is between 15°C and 25°C.
Sika® Primer-206 G+P should be applied only once. Care must be taken to ensure that this single application provides a sufficiently dense coverage. Consumption and application method depend on the specific nature of the substrates. Close the container tightly immediately after each use.
