Mapei Silancolor Primer Plus is a sanitising, levelling siloxane primer based on silanes and siloxanes in water dispersion, designed to prepare internal and external wall surfaces before applying Silancolor Plus line finishes. Thanks to its highly penetrating formula, the product evens out the substrate’s absorption and improves the adhesion of subsequent paints, while also helping protect surfaces against the formation and spread of mould and algae. In fact, Silancolor Primer Plus provides a preventive protective action, helping to combat deterioration caused by moisture and the growth of microorganisms on walls.

The primer preserves the substrate’s breathability while providing high water repellency, making it ideal for protection and decoration cycles on façades and wall surfaces exposed to harsh weather conditions or high humidity. The water-based formula is odourless and solvent-free, which also makes it suitable for use in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces. Silancolor Primer Plus is ready to use and can be applied with a brush, roller or spray on new surfaces, previously painted surfaces or surfaces pre-treated against mould and algae. Recommended applications: preparation of internal and external wall surfaces before painting, use on façades damaged by mould and algae, preventive treatment of walls exposed to moisture and the growth of microorganisms, application on cement-based plasters and wall substrates to be protected and levelled before the decorative finish.

The substrate must be cured, clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or loose particles. In the presence of mould or algae, pre-treatment with Silancolor Cleaner Plus is recommended before applying the primer. Silancolor Primer Plus is ready to use and must be thoroughly stirred before application; it can be applied with a brush, roller, or spray. After application, wait approximately 12–24 hours before the next finish, ensuring that the substrate is completely dry. Indicative consumption is about 0.10–0.15 kg/m² and the recommended application temperature is between +5°C and +35°C. The product is available in 2 kg and 10 kg packs
