Mapei MapePUR Roof Foam M Manual Adhesive Foam for Roofs, Roof Tiles and Tiles 750 ml

Mapei MapePUR Roof Foam M is a self-expanding one-component adhesive polyurethane foam, specifically designed for the rapid bonding of construction components and particularly suitable for fixing roof tiles and ridge tiles on pitched roofs.

The MapePUR Roof Foam M version is for manual application and does not require the use of a professional gun: the foam is dispensed directly from the can using the special dispensing tube.

This makes it practical and quick to use for installation, maintenance, and repair work where a polyurethane foam gun is not required.

In addition to bonding roof tiles and ridge tiles, MapePUR Roof Foam M can be used to fill, seal, and insulate voids and discontinuities found in many construction details.

The foam reacts with moisture after extrusion, expanding and hardening to form a stable structure with high thermal and acoustic insulation properties.

MapePUR Roof Foam M has low expansion, a feature that is particularly important when bonding roof tiles and ridge tiles.

Once cured, the foam can be cut, sanded, smoothed, drilled, covered with cementitious skim coats, or painted.

The surface to which MapePUR Roof Foam M is to be applied must be clean and free of oils, grease, dust, and loose or detaching parts.

Protect any adjacent delicate surfaces in advance to avoid soiling them during application.

To promote expansion and proper curing of the foam, it is recommended to dampen the substrate with a fine water spray.

Can preparation

The air temperature during application must be between +5°C and +30°C.

The best performance is obtained with the can at an approximate temperature of about +20°C / +25°C.

Before application, shake the can vigorously, keeping the valve facing downward, for at least 30 seconds.

Manual application

Remove the protective cap.

Screw the dispensing tube onto the can valve.

Turn the can upside down, keeping the valve facing downward.

Aim the tube at the area to be treated and press the dispensing lever.

Bonding of roof tiles and tiles

For bonding, apply MapePUR Roof Foam M in beads or spots.

Immediately place the roof tile, tile, or element to be bonded onto the still fresh foam.

Filling cavities

To fill voids and cavities, apply the foam starting from the deepest point and working from bottom to top.

Initially fill about 50-60% of the cavity volume, since the subsequent expansion of the foam will complete the filling.

For cracks wider than approximately 5 cm, it is recommended to proceed in several layers, waiting for the previous layer to expand before applying the next one.

After application, it is recommended to lightly spray the freshly dispensed foam with water to improve yield and curing.

Materials and compatibility

MapePUR Roof Foam M adheres to many materials commonly used in construction.

It does not adhere to polyethylene, silicone, or Teflon (PTFE).

The fully hardened foam must also be protected from direct exposure to UV rays, which over time may cause surface deterioration.

Actual times and expansion may vary depending on temperature, humidity, cavity size, and application conditions.

Indicative shelf life: 18 months, under the conditions specified by the manufacturer.

Do not release MapePUR Roof Foam M, product residues or packaging into the environment.

Any residues and contaminated packaging must be managed in compliance with the applicable regulations and according to the instructions provided in the Mapei Safety Data Sheet.

The can is a pressurised container and must be handled and disposed of according to the instructions on the label and in the product safety documentation.
