Mapei MapePUR Cleaner, Polyurethane Foam and Gun Cleaner 500 ml

Mapei MapePUR Cleaner is a professional solvent-based cleaner specifically for the removal of fresh, uncured polyurethane foam and for cleaning the guns used to dispense polyurethane foam.

Thanks to its dual-use system, MapePUR Cleaner can be used both manually as a spray on surfaces and tools soiled with fresh foam, and screwed directly onto the gun to perform internal circuit cleaning.

It is particularly suitable for removing fresh polyurethane foam residue from:

MapePUR Cleaner is compatible with MapePUR Gun Standard and MapePUR Gun Special.

The product is supplied in a 500 ml pressurised can and is ready to use.

Important

MapePUR Cleaner removes only fresh, uncured polyurethane foam.

Once polyurethane foam has hardened, it cannot be removed with MapePUR Cleaner and must be removed mechanically.

As this is a solvent-based product, before using it on a surface, it is recommended to carry out a preliminary test on a hidden area to ensure that the cleaner does not alter or discolour the material.

Manual use

Before use, shake the inverted can thoroughly, with the dispensing valve facing downward, at least 25 times.

Insert the special cylindrical nozzle supplied with the can onto the top valve.

Spray MapePUR Cleaner while keeping the can inverted and directing the product onto the area affected by fresh polyurethane foam.

Wait for the foam to dissolve or soften and remove the residue immediately using a clean cloth.

Cleaning the polyurethane foam gun

Screw the can of MapePUR Cleaner onto the MapePUR Gun Standard or MapePUR Gun Special gun.

The can will be mounted upside down on the gun.

Pull the gun trigger and spray for a few seconds until only cleaner comes out of the circuit, with no further traces of polyurethane foam.

Then unscrew the can from the gun and store it in an upright position, with the dispensing valve facing upward.

Operate the gun again to completely remove any residual cleaner inside the circuit.

Warnings

MapePUR Cleaner is a solvent-based cleaner and must be used in adequately ventilated areas.

Always carry out a preliminary test to check the product’s compatibility with the surface to be treated.

The product is intended for removing polyurethane foam while it is still fresh and is not effective on fully cured foam.

Store the can in an upright position, away from direct sunlight and temperatures above +50°C.

Do not release MapePUR Cleaner, cleaning residues, or the canister into the environment.

The product used for cleaning, any residues, and contaminated packaging must be disposed of in compliance with current regulations and according to the instructions given in the Mapei Safety Data Sheet.

The canister is a pressurised container: do not pierce, burn, or expose to heat sources, even after use.
