Mapei Mapeflex AC4 Paintable Acrylic Sealant, Smooth Finish 310 ml

Mapeflex AC4 by Mapei is the benchmark paintable acrylic sealant for those seeking a clean, long-lasting result that integrates perfectly with surface finishes. Its thixotropic consistency makes it easy to apply both horizontally and vertically, ensuring a smooth, even finish from the very first pass.

Formulated with acrylic resins in water dispersion, it is completely solvent-free and EMICODE EC1 Plus certified for very low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC). A safe choice for residential, healthcare, and school environments, as well as for all applications where indoor air quality is a key requirement.

Seals made with Mapeflex AC4 retain their properties unchanged even after years of exposure to weathering, industrial atmospheres, and temperature fluctuations. The product remains flexible down to -30°C and withstands temperatures up to +80°C, with peaks up to +100°C for short periods.

Thanks to its paintable formulation, Mapeflex AC4 blends perfectly with any type of finish. Recoating is possible after just 20 minutes on absorbent and porous substrates, significantly reducing intervention times on fast-track construction sites.

The product adheres to all porous surfaces: concrete, plaster, bricks, gypsum, cellular concrete, wood, and natural stone. Not suitable for non-absorbent surfaces such as glass, metal, or ceramic, nor for applications in continuous water immersion.

The substrate must be solid, clean, dry, and free of dust, loose material, oils and release agents. For joints subject to movement, apply adhesive masking tape along the edges before application to protect adjacent surfaces.
Apply the product directly from the cartridge with an extrusion gun, or with a spatula or pneumatic pump for larger formats. Fill the joint completely, avoiding the formation of air bubbles. Smooth the surface with a suitable tool moistened with water and remove the masking tape immediately after smoothing.
If painting is required, use elastomeric paints such as Mapei's Elastocolor Paint. Painting is possible after just 20 minutes on absorbent substrates, or after the sealant has fully cured on less porous substrates. In any case, a preliminary compatibility test between sealant and paint is recommended.
Do not apply on non-absorbent surfaces (glass, metal, ceramic) or in continuous immersion in water. Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or above +35°C. If in doubt about compatibility with plastic materials or special surfaces, always carry out a preliminary test.

The 310 ml cartridge is made of plastic (polypropylene). Once empty and free of product residue, it should be disposed of in the plastic recycling collection according to the methods provided by your municipality of residence. The 550 ml sausage is contained in a plastic film wrapper: dispose of it in the plastic recycling collection as well. The 25 kg bucket is made of rigid plastic (polyethylene): once emptied and cleaned, it should be disposed of in the plastic recycling collection. Always check local guidelines for proper disposal.
