Mapei Eco Prim T Pro is a multi-purpose acrylic primer in water dispersion specifically for preparing absorbent substrates and ceramic surfaces before applying skim coats and smoothing compounds.

It can also be used as a primer on very absorbent or slightly dusty substrates before applying dispersion adhesives, cementitious adhesives, and silane polymer-based adhesives.

Eco Prim T Pro performs several functions in substrate preparation: it acts as a bonding promoter, absorbency regulator, dust consolidator, and isolator between gypsum and cement.

It is a versatile product, suitable for numerous applications in floor and substrate preparation before the next installation.

The substrate must be uniformly dry, mechanically sound, clean, and free of dust, loose parts, cracks, paints, waxes, oils, rust, and other substances that could compromise adhesion.

Also check for any signs of rising damp.

Eco Prim T Pro can be applied evenly by:

Brush

Dilution varies depending on the type of substrate.

Cementitious substrates:
dilute up to 1:2 with water.

Anhydrite and gypsum substrates:
dilute 1:1 with water.

Old ceramic tiles, natural stone, wood, and suitable adhesive residues: use neat.

After the primer has dried, it is possible to proceed with the application of the levelling compound, smoothing layer, or specified adhesive.

Drying time

Approximately:
Absorbent substrates such as screeds and concrete: about 30 minutes

Ceramic substrates: about 60 minutes

Gypsum-based substrates: about 30-60 minutes, depending on the subsequent application
Before silane-modified polymer-based adhesives for parquet: about 30-60 minutes

Times may vary depending on temperature, ambient humidity, and substrate absorbency.

It is recommended not to exceed 24 hours before applying the next product.

Indicative coverage varies depending on substrate porosity and dilution: about 50-150 g/m²

Approximately:
Neat product: about 150 g/m²
Diluted 1:1: about 75 g/m²
Diluted 1:2: about 50 g/m²
Warnings
Use Eco Prim T Pro only on indoor floors
Do not use on substrates subject to rising damp
On wood, use only if moisture-stable
Do not use on magnesium-based substrates
Depending on the absorbency of the substrate, multiple applications may be necessary

Cleaning tools
When Eco Prim T Pro is still fresh, tools, floors, coverings, and clothing can be cleaned with water.
Once dry, it can be removed with alcohol or Mapei Pulicol 2000.

Storage
Eco Prim T Pro is stable for at least 12 months in its original sealed packaging and when stored according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

The product does not tolerate prolonged exposure to frost.

Do not release the product or residues into the environment.

Eco Prim T Pro residues and contaminated packaging must be handled in accordance with current regulations and the instructions provided in the Mapei Safety Data Sheet.

To dispose of the packaging correctly, check the environmental labelling on the package and follow the regulations of your municipality or local waste management provider.
