Mapei Eco Prim Grip Plus is a universal bonding primer and adhesion promoter, ready to use, specifically designed to improve the adhesion of smoothing compounds, plasters and cementitious adhesives on difficult, smooth, and low-absorbency or non-absorbent substrates.
It is particularly suitable for renovation work when it is necessary to create an effective bonding bridge on old tiles, avoiding, where the condition of the substrate allows it, the demolition of the existing covering.
It can be used indoors and outdoors, on floors and walls.
Eco Prim Grip Plus is ideal before applying cementitious adhesives and smoothing compounds on non-absorbent surfaces such as:
- Old ceramic tiles
- Porcelain stoneware
- Terrazzo tiles
- Natural stone
- Smooth surfaces
- Epoxy resin coverings
- Polyurethane resin coverings
It can also be used to improve the adhesion of cement-based and lime-based plasters on substrates such as:
- Concrete
- Brick
- Vibro-compressed concrete blocks
Thanks to its formulation and creamy consistency, it creates a rough surface that promotes the adhesion of subsequently applied products.
It is ready to use, virtually odorless, and solvent-free, with EMICODE EC1 Plus certification for very low emissions of volatile organic compounds.

Any existing flooring or wall coverings must be well bonded to the substrate.
Eco Prim Grip Plus is ready to use and must not be diluted.
Before application, mix the product to make it homogeneous.
Apply Eco Prim Grip Plus evenly to the surface using:

Wait for the primer to dry completely before proceeding with the next product.
Waiting times
Before applying plasters:
about 15-20 minutes
Before applying skim coats or cementitious adhesives:
about 30-60 minutes
The times may vary depending on temperature, ambient humidity, and the porosity of the substrate.
Application temperature
Apply Eco Prim Grip Plus at temperatures between:
+5°C and +35°C

Indicative coverage is:
0,20-0,30 kg/m²
Actual coverage varies depending on absorption and the characteristics of the substrate.
Cleaning tools
When Eco Prim Grip Plus is still fresh, floors, wall coverings, and tools can be cleaned with water.
Once dry, the product can be removed using alcohol or Mapei Pulicol 2000.

Storage
Eco Prim Grip Plus is stable for at least 12 months in unopened original packaging and stored under the normal conditions specified by the manufacturer.
Containers may be recycled only when properly emptied.
Residues of dried product must be disposed of in accordance with the instructions provided in the Mapei documentation and in compliance with the applicable local regulations.
For correct disposal of the packaging, always check the environmental labelling on the package and the regulations of your municipality or local waste management provider.
