Adesilex VZ is a professional Mapei adhesive with double coating, based on polychloroprene rubber in solvent solution, ideal for bonding PVC floors and coverings, cork or wood supported in PVC, as well as profiles, skirting boards, baseboards, and PVC plasticized stair nosings.
It offers immediate grip, high adhesion, and elasticity, ensuring optimal resistance to temperature, humidity, and aging.
It can be applied on walls, floors, drywall, wood, metal, and plastics, even on curved or vertical surfaces where quick grip is needed.
Main features:
- Double coating adhesive with immediate grip
- Low viscosity for easy and uniform application
- Excellent resistance to humidity and aging
- Ideal for plasticized PVC, cork, and wood supported in PVC
- Indicative consumption: 0.2–0.3 kg/m²
- Waiting time before installation: 10–20 minutes
- Ready to use and for professional use
Fields of application: floors, coverings, skirting boards, profiles, PVC or polyurethane foams, curved and non-absorbent surfaces.
Substrates must be uniformly dry, flat, resistant to compression and tension, free of dust, loose parts, paints, waxes, oils, rust, traces of gypsum, and products that could impair adhesion, and must not have cracks.
The moisture content must comply with the regulations in force in each country.
It is also essential to ensure that there is no rising damp.
Floating screeds over lightweight or insulating layers and screeds on embankments must be poured over a vapor barrier to prevent moisture rise.
If it is necessary to repair substrate cracks, consolidate screeds, create fast-drying screeds, or level laying surfaces, consult the MAPEI product line catalogs for substrate preparation or contact MAPEI Technical Assistance.
Acclimatization
Before starting installation, ensure that the floor, covering, adhesive, and substrate are acclimatized to the prescribed temperature.
The floor and covering must be removed from packaging several hours before installation. The sheets should be laid loosely or at least loosened from the rolls to allow acclimatization and reduce tensions caused by packaging.
Adhesive Application
Adesilex VZ is applied evenly with a fine notched trowel (MAPEI no. 1) both on the substrate and on the back of the covering.
Highly absorbent substrates may require a preliminary skim coat as a primer.
Laying the Covering
Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding the installation technique.
Lay the covering after the complete evaporation of the solvent, 10-20 minutes at +23°C (do not wait too long): the correct time is easily determined in practice by waiting until, when touched, the adhesive is still tacky but does not transfer to the finger.
Then proceed with bonding, being very careful as any mistakes during installation cannot be corrected due to the immediate setting of the adhesive. Apply good pressure on the glued surface using a suitable metal roller or wooden spatula (or similar).
Only if perfectly clean
