Mapei Dursilite Base Coat is a smooth pigmented acrylic primer for interiors, made from modified acrylic resins in water dispersion and selected fillers, designed to even out the substrate’s absorption and improve the adhesion of subsequent paints. It is particularly suitable as a primer on new or previously painted surfaces when a uniform base is needed before applying the finish. Thanks to its high coverage and levelling power, it helps mask colour differences, cover dark shades and prepare the substrate for intense or difficult colours, improving the final result. Dursilite Base Coat is a pigmented and tintable product, suitable for use with a tinting system, making it ideal for working in combination with the final colour and achieving a uniform, professional finish. It is suitable for application on cement, lime or plaster-based renders, plasterboard and previously painted surfaces, provided they are well bonded and not deteriorated. The product is ready to use, easy to apply by roller, brush or spray, and available in 4 L and 14 L sizes, ideal for both residential and large-scale professional projects.

Recommended applications: primer for interior surfaces in cement, lime or plaster, wall preparation before painting, use on plasterboard and modern substrates, application on previously painted surfaces provided they are well bonded, renovation work and wall decoration where colour uniformity and better finish adhesion are required.

The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and free from any loose parts; any defects must be repaired beforehand. Dursilite Base Coat is ready to use and can be diluted with water up to approximately 10%, then applied in one coat by roller, brush or spray. The overcoating time for the finish is approximately 12–24 hours, depending on environmental conditions. The indicative coverage is about 5–8 m²/l per coat. The product is for indoor use only and is available in white or in colours obtained from colour charts through the Mapei tinting system.
