Sika® Primer-207 is a black solvent-based primer that reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer. This layer acts as a bond between substrates and adhesives.
Sika® Primer-207 is specifically formulated for the treatment of the bonding surface before the application of Sika one-component polyurethanes. This primer may provide excellent adhesion without a prior activation phase on many substrates. Sika® Primer-207 fluoresces under UV light for a limited period of time. This feature is used during the inspection process.
Sika® Primer-207 is used to enhance adhesion on a very wide range of different substrates such as float glass, ceramic glass, plastic, pre-coatings, painted surfaces, electronic coatings, and metals.
Ask the manufacturer for advice and conduct tests on original substrates before using Sika® Primer-207 on materials subject to stress cracking.
This product is suitable only for experienced professional users. Tests with substrates and real conditions must be conducted to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from any traces of grease, oil, dust, and contaminants.
Adhesion to substrates can be improved by adding and/or combining pretreatment processes such as rubbing, cleaning, and activation.
Application:
Shake the Sika® Primer-207 vigorously until the beads are freely mixed. Continue shaking for another minute and apply a thin but covering layer with a brush, felt, or foam applicator.
The ideal application and surface temperature range from 15°C to 25°C.
Sika® Primer-207 should be applied only once. Care must be taken to ensure that this single application provides a sufficiently dense coverage. Consumption and application method depend on the specific nature of the substrates. Close the container tightly immediately after each use.
