What is the difference between masking tapes?

• Standard masking tape: It is designed to protect areas that should not be painted. It is generally made with an adhesive that sticks well without damaging the surface and peels off easily once the job is done.
• Curved tape: It is a special type of masking tape designed to follow curved and irregular surfaces. It has greater flexibility compared to standard tapes and is used to achieve clean paint lines on curved surfaces or difficult angles.

What is the temperature resistance of painting tapes?

Painting tapes generally withstand temperatures between 60°C and 120°C depending on the product type. High-quality tapes, such as those made from paper or polyester, are designed to endure the high temperatures required for painting processes like oven baking. It is important to choose a tape with thermal resistance suitable for the specific painting process you are using.

How to remove the tape after painting?

To remove masking tape without damaging the paint:

• Timing: Remove the tape before the paint is completely dry, ideally when it is still slightly damp or in the touch-dry phase, to prevent the paint from peeling off with the tape.
• Removal angle: Peel the tape off at a 45° angle to reduce the risk of tearing the paint.
• Steady movement: Remove the tape slowly and evenly to avoid damaging the paint line. If necessary, use a small tool to help lift the tape from the edges.
